PORTLAND (AP) — The city of Portland has been awarded $1.5 million grant to support the redevelopment of Thompson’s Point, a former industrial site.

The money from the Economic Development Administration will support the development of a mixed-use center for performing arts, professional sports, offices and regional transportation.

Sen. Susan Collins announced the funding on Thursday.
