BRUNSWICK
A two-vehicle crash reported Wednesday afternoon at the Bath Road intersection by Lowe’s Home Improvement store was caused by a driver who allegedly ran a red light, according to the Brunswick Police Department.
The crash was reported Wednesday at 2:07 p.m. Lt. Tom Garrepy said this morning that 76-year-old Edith Smith of Bowdoinham was exiting Lowe’s driving a 2010 Chrysler. John Gervais, 33, of West Bath was traveling east on Bath Road in a 2008 Chevrolet and allegedly ran a red light at the intersection by Lowe’s and collided with the Chrysler.
Gervais complained of chest pain, Garrepy said, likely caused by his seatbelt during the crash. He was taken by Brunswick Fire and Rescue to nearby Mid Coast Hospital where he was treated and released, according to a hospital spokesman.
Both vehicles had to be towed, Garrepy said. No charges were issued.
