BRUNSWICK — Through the years, Spindleworks artists have been supported by a team of talented staff artists who exhibit their work both locally and nationally. This month, the current staff from Spindleworks and SpinOff Studio (the new outpost in Hallowell) bring their work to the Little Dog Coffee Shop, 87 Maine St.
Spindleworks artists have been part of the Brunswick community since the late 1970s. Their artwork has hung on the walls of local coffee shops and national galleries; their talent and dedication to their work is recognized and appreciated by many, states a news release. They are well-known figures in town, getting their daily coffee or lunch at local shops.
While working at the studios on Lincoln Street, the role of the staff artist — while creative — is that of facilitator, problem solver and teacher. They are dedicated to supporting and promoting the artwork produced by the 45 member artists, states the release. Off the clock, the staff dedicate time to their own craft. They are sculptors, filmmakers, painters, photographers, textile artists, designers and potters.
Little Dog Coffee Shop is open Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
