A Pownal man received minor injuries after he was Tboned by another vehicle at the Route 196 and Interstate 295 southbound on-ramp intersection shortly before noon on Thursday.
Topsham officer Troy Garrison said Daniel Hunnewell, 56, of Pownal, was driving a 2003 Jeep Liberty east on Route 196. Barbara Staples, 69, of Lisbon, was driving a 2001 Buick Sentry on Route 196 and Garrision said she didn’t see Hunnewell’s vehicle and hit the Jeep’s driver’s side door.
Hunnewell was checked at the scene by Topsham Fire and Rescue and taken to Parkview Adventist Medical Center in Brunswick for minor injuries, where he was treated and released according to a spokesman.
The Buick sustained about $1,000 in damage and the Jeep sustained about $3,000 in damage. No charges were filed. Route 196 was closed temporarily while wreckers removed the vehicles.
