PHIPPSBURG
The Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Department charged Ana Tanner, 46, of Brunswick, with improper passing after she allegedly struck another vehicle turning into a driveway along Route 209.
Chief Deputy Brett Strout said Lisa Washburn, 27, of Bath, was driving a 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck south on Route 209 and was trying to make a left turn into a driveway. As she was starting to make the turn, Tanner, driving a 2010 Scion south on Route 209, tried to pass Washburn on the left in a no-passing zone.
As a result, the vehicles struck and Tanner went off the road. The pickup truck driven by Washburn sustained damage from where the Scion struck it.
No injuries were reported. The incident was reported at 6:10 p.m. Thursday.
