BRUNSWICK — Brunswick Aspen Dental poured it on early, jumping out to a 14-0 lead en route to a 17-9 U12 softball win over Durham in recent action.

Aspen Dental’s charge was led by two hits from Leila Rollins and a three-RBI game from Madeline Berry.

Durham was held off at the start by a standout outing on the mound from Hannah Escoe, but broke through in the fourth with two runs on big RBI hits from Emily Larochelle and Megan Cormier. Alexa Koenig also tossed in a single to help the cause.

Durham was able to put up seven more runs after Escoe exited in the fifth inning with a series of walks and fielding miscues.

Aspen Dental’s Allison Eck, Kirah Depres-Bowman, Olivia Mateus and Margaret Dickinson also contributed to the attack with base hits.

In other action, Aspen Dental got past the Bath Elks, 17-2.

Defensively, big plays were turned in by Robyn Dumont, Mateus and Berry.

Bath Elks scored two runs early with good baserunning following back-toback walks to start the game. Margaret Dickinson and Caitlyn Witwicki combined to allow no walks after the rough start.

Aspen Dental’s offensive catalyst was Brooke Barter with a single, double and three RBIs. Mateus kicked in a timely single.

Bath Elks hitting was driven by solid hits from Gennesis Rodregez and Carly Lister.
