LISBON FALLS — In Mountain Valey Conference play on Monday, Telstar scored the lone run in the second inning to blank Lisbon, 1-0, in high school baseball action on Monday.
Lisbon fell to 5-7 and visits Monmouth on Wednesday.
Telstar (9-2) pitcher Dan Whitney went the distance with 13 strikeouts, a walk and three hits allowed.
Lisbon’s Ryan Riordan also went seven innings and gave up three hits, with 13 strikeouts and a walk.
The only run came in the second inning with two outs on a throwing error with runners on first and third.
Telstar’s Kurt Morgan went 2-for-3 with a double, and Nick Mills had a hit, while Lisbon’s Mason Smith doubled with two outs in the third, and Riordan and Kyle Bourget each singled.
