BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick junior varsity boys basketball team improved its record to 8- 3 with victories over Hampden Academy (50-35) and Skowhegan (64-28), the latter on Monday.
Standouts from the two games were guards Blake Gordon, who averaged 15 points, and Derek Devereaux, who averaged eight points. Forwards Alex Bandouveres and John Almgren also averaged eight points each and rebounded well.
“Both of these games were great defensive victories for the Dragons,” said Brunswick coach Adam Caron. “All of my players provided great pressure in the front court, played tough man- to- man defense in the back court and hustled for every loose ball.”
