LEWISTON — Androscoggin Bank is accepting grant applications for its second cycle of 2016 Greater Giving program through June 30.
Greater Giving is the bank’s community impact program launched in 2015 designed to provide support to nonprofits and organizations that benefit the community in three specific areas: economic development, education and the arts. It accepts grant applications twice each year, with deadlines on June 30 and Dec. 31.
The Greater Giving awards committee approved first cycle grants in January 2016, totaling $7,500, to four organizations, including Androscoggin River Watershed Council, EqualityMaine Foundation, the MidCoast Symphony Orchestra and YMCA of Auburn/Lewiston.
The Greater Giving program’s philosophy is that “community impact through partnership” is not only an exercise in volunteer hours and money donated, but is an emphasis on community partnerships and choosing to focus giving efforts in strategic areas where the bank can make the biggest difference.
