BRUNSWICK — In recent Cal Ripken Baseball Major Division action, GM Wild tied Play It Again Sports, 6-6.
After two scoreless innings, Wild got the scoring started in the third with two runs. PIA came back and scored one run in the bottom of inning. In the fourth, PIA put five runs on the board to take a 6-2 lead.
But, GM Wild came back with three runs in the fifth and one in the sixth to tie the game at 6-6.
GM Wild’s offensive attack was led by Nick McCormick, who had two doubles and a triple. Will Stevens, Garrett Woodruff and Brady Mitchell also had hits for GM Wild. Henry Doherty pitched four scoreless innings for GM Wild, striking out 10 batters.
PIA’s offense was led by Sam Sharpe’s two-double, while Dalton Dickey, Wyatt Slocum and Max Friedman each added a hit. Finn Mitchell and Friedman combined to pitch four innings for PIA, striking out nine while allowing three runs.
Each team made several standout plays to keep the game close, preventing either side from taking control of the game.
