LEWISTON — Lee Michael Lajoie was born on March 3rd, 1954 in Augusta, Maine. He passed away on July 31, 2016. He is the son of Major (retired) Aldore S. Lajoie and Marilyn (Pierce) Lajoie. He spent the majority of his life in Maine. He attended the University of Southern Maine and held a number of professional positions including the U.S. Air Force Military Police at Eglin Air Force Base, FL and served on the Freeport and Westbrook Police Departments. He also worked at L.L. Bean and was an independent real estate appraiser establishing himself in the industry and owning his own business.

He enjoyed playing the saxophone, crossword puzzles and following the New England sports teams (especially the Patriots) and cooking French Cuisine. He was also an avid Stark Trek fan and considered himself a true Trekkie. His real passion was spending time with his family and friends.

He is pre-deceased by his parents, and a step daughter Kathryn Ames-Peters. He is survived by his daughter Kendra Lajoie of Westbrook, two sisters, Lori Stupinski and her husband Scott of Melrose, MA, Lisa Hewitt and her husband Steve of Readfield, ME. He is also survived by six grandchildren who fondly called him “Bampere”; Damion, Brandon, Alivia, Scott, Tylor and Sabastian, four great grandchildren, Nova, Noah, Michael and Aubrey and two nephews Jonathon and Zachary, and two nieces Elisabeth and Prudence .

He will be missed by all including his close friends Rick Ricker and his wife Dee, Pat Morrissey and his wife Bonnie, and his ex-wife Lauris Hawley, who were with him through his final days.

The family extends their appreciation to the staff of Gosnell Hospice House for all they did to keep Lee comfortable.

A graveside service will be held at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta, Maine on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, promptly at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to honor our Veterans to the Travis Mills Foundation in memory of Lee, (http://www.travismills.org/), 89 Water Street, Hallowell, ME 04347.
