The School Administrative District 75 Board of Directors is scheduled to appoint someone to serve as principal of Williams-Cone Elementary School during its meeting tonight.
That meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. at Mt. Ararat High School, room 201.
The principalship of Williams-Cone School was left open after Steve Ciembroniewicz left the position at the end of June to serve as principal of Coffin Elementary School in Brunswick. Brad Smith, Superintendent of SAD 75 schools, announced in July that 19 people applied for the position. Tonight, the school board is slated to appoint a candidate to a oneyear contract to the position of principal of Williams-Cone School, effective as soon as possible.
The school board tonight will also consider adopting draft district goals for 2012-13, establishing board committees for 2012 including membership to the Comprehensive Strategic Planning Committee; and the board’s representation to the Maine Vocational Region 10 Cooperative Board for 2012-13.
The school board is also scheduled to:
— Hear a second reading and consider adopting proposed changes to the district’s various substance abuse policies.
— Appoint Wendy Edwards to a first-year probationary contract to the position of Literacy Teacher Leader at Williams-Cone School, effective Sept. 1.
— Appoint Gina Stokes as a half-time librarian at Mt. Ararat Middle School and a half-time librarian at Mt. Ararat High School, effective Sept. 1.
— Accept the resignation of Cooper Dragonette as an art teacher at Mt. Ararat High School, effective Aug. 31; and transfer half-time high school art teacher Christine Delrossi into a full-time art teacher position at Mt. Ararat High School, effective Sept. 1.
