BRUNSWICK
Brunswick police arrested a man they say was confronted by three men at Merrymeeting Plaza on Wednesday night he’d allegedly stolen items from while burglarizing motor vehicles.
At 10:41 p.m., Capt. Mark Waltz said Robert Carroll, 20, of 56 Joatmon Drive in Auburn, called police to report that he was being robbed by three individuals at Merrymeeting Plaza on Bath Road.
When officers arrived, Waltz said the three men were still there and after investigating found that Carroll had been removing items from a car, and the three men were trying to detain him to get their property back, which included a knife. Waltz said Carroll, who was intoxicated, was found with three knives in his possession.
Carroll was arrested, charged with burglary of a motor vehicle and theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.
