READFIELD — The 1-13 record may not show it, but Morse High School field hockey coach Stephanie Pinkham was proud of her team after a season-ending 4-0 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference loss to Maranacook on Tuesday.

“We dominated play, especially in the first half, but we just didn’t finish and trailed 1-0 at the break,” said Pinkham. “We allowed three goals in the second half, but we still had our moments where we controlled play. I am very proud of this group.”

Pinkham says good-bye to nine seniors.

“From where we were last year to where we are now is so different,” said Pinkham, who loses Kaylee Walker, Bronwyn Morissette, Shaw Pinkham, Allison Plummer, Julia Hart, Mallory Goodine, Cat Sener, Shira Gersh and goaltender Bryanna Ringrose, who had 10 saves in the season finale. “There was no disappointment on the field after the game. They came together and worked hard from day one.”

Maranacook finished the season with a 3-11 mark.
