COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Numerous Ohio State varsity athletes are expected at the funeral of an Ohio State athlete found dead of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Football teammates have called Kosta Karageorge, who also wrestled at the university, hard-working and enthusiastic.
Karageorge’s services are scheduled for today at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Columbus with a private burial in Athens County.
After Karageorge went missing Nov. 26, his mother told police her son had had several concussions and a few spells of being extremely confused.
The Franklin County coroner says a special examination will look for signs of traumatic brain injury related to a history of concussions.
A woman looking for scrap metal found the body of the 22- year-old Karageorge on Sunday near his apartment in Columbus.
