LEWISTON — The Mt. Ararat Middle School eighthgrade girls basketball team dominated the second half for a 41-30 victory over Lewiston on Monday.
The Eagles won their second game.
Tied 8-8 and 14-14 at the first two quarter breaks, Mt. Ararat opend up a 10-point lead in the third quarter by using a 3-2 zone press.
Ainsley Bryant scored a game-high 24 points in the win, with Abby Sirois adding 11 points, including eight in the decisive third quarter. Olivia Colleran and Zoe Pinkham were standouts on defense and rebounding.
The 2-3 Eagles return to action on Tuesday at Oxford Hills.
