Those who were fortunate enough to know her, knew her to be a selfless and strong willed woman, with an infectious smile and beautiful soul that touched the hearts of so many people. She always had a positive outlook on life and believed in the generous and honest spirits in people. She especially loved children and animals; her relationships with them could only be described as magical. She was a very special lady and will be greatly missed.
She leaves behind her loving husband Lawrence Zuckerman; her son, Tyler Beran, and her daughter, Leah Beran; her sisters, Maureen Babicki and Annmarie Babicki; and brother, Brian Babicki and his partner, Lynn Foley; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to whom she gives love and thanks for being a part of her life.
As requested by Catherine, a celebration of her life will be hosted in the spring at her and Lawrence’s home at the lake. Announcement of the date will made at a later time. She did not wish to have a funeral service.
Anyone who wishes can make a donation in her name to the following organization( s): The Dempsey Center in Lewiston, Maine, (https://www.dempseycenter.org/ ways- to- give- 3/) and/or to Turning the Tide Ovarian Cancer Retreat, Beth C. We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
