FAIRFIELD — The Mt. Ararat High School girls soccer team picked up its first win with a 2-0 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win over Lawrence on Tuesday.

Lauren Sturgess and Nikki Bradstreet each picked up a goal for the 1-0-1 Eagles, who are slated to host Mt. Blue on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Kate Guerin turned aside nine shots for the shutout, while Lawrence (1-1) netminder Kayla Spencer had 15 saves.

CAMDEN HILLS 4 BRUNSWICK 3

Four players scored one goal each for the Windjammers in a KVAC win over Brunswick.

Eliza Roy, Emma Guiheinz, Charlotte Messer and Kassie Krul scored for the 2-0 visitors who moved to Class A from Class B this season.

Jenna Brooks had a pair of goals for the 1-1 Dragons, who host Skowhegan on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. Maeve Arthur chipped in a goal.

“An incredible game by both teams with end-to-end action in blistering mid-afternoon heat,” said Brunswick coach Martyn Davison. “We were great with the ball offensively, but defensively we need to tighten up and do much better without the ball.”

Brunswick goaltenders Maddie Brescia and Beth Labbe combined on 10 saves, while Camden Hills netminder Isabella Lang had 13 stops. The Windjammers held a 6-4 edge in corner kicks, with the Dragons owning an 18-16 edge in shots.
