TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat High School varsity field hockey team fell to 3-4-1 on Tuesday when it dropped a 5-1 decision to Edward Little.

The Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference matchup had the Red Eddies putting up 13 shots and the Eagles seven.

Mt. Ararat’s Meagan Thomas-Copeland scored the lone goal for the Eagles off an Eva Jerome assist.

Scoring for Edward Little were Elizabeth Bellman (two goals), Jasmin Wyman (two) and Kiara Fournier. Kaylie Valley and Fournier each had an assist.

Mt. Ararat had seven corners while Edward Little had 10.

The Eagles are home on Saturday against Brewer at 1 p.m.

BRUNSWICK 0 BREWER 3

At Brewer, M.J. Sellers recorded a goal and an assist to lead the Witches past Brunswick (1-6-1) in KVAC action.

Crystal Dore scored the first goal for 3-4 Brewer on a corner play in the first three minutes of the first half off Sellers’ assist. Sellers’ goal came in the second half at the 3:14 mark on a breakaway.

Hannah Smith scored the last goal of the game off an assist from Olivia Wing with 1:38 remaining in the game.

Brewer goalie Michele Maybury had a shutout with three saves on three shots.

Goalie Anna Webster had three saves on six shots for Brunswick, which hosts Hampden Academy on Thursday at 4 p.m.

MORSE 0 BELFAST 8

The host Lions (7-1) rolled to a KVAC Class B win over the Shipbuilders, who fell to 1-7 and host Waterville (0-7) on Thursday at 5 p.m.

Madeline Baker had 13 saves in goal for Morse, while Christine Skroski played well.
