This is in response to an Oct. 30 op-ed, “A back-alley abortion experience is a nightmare.”
What a terrible experience to go through. However, in this op-ed, one can detect no personal introspection gained from this situation, nor a trace, on the part of the writer, of personal emotional growth, insight, maturity, spiritual struggling, regrets for unfortunate actions and decisions of the past, or even regrets for the loss of an innocent life. Furthermore, the writer and his girlfriend admittedly had made no effort to exercise responsible actions to prevent unwanted pregnancy.
Abortion is anti-human. Read the 14th Amendment. This amendment is meant to offer protection for the lives of all Americans at every stage of human development. That is why abortion had always been illegal.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
