BOWDOIN — Firefighters from four departments battled a fire that broke out in a second-story bedroom at 631 West Burrough Road in Bowdoin shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday. Smoke alarms woke the tenant, who ran to a neighbor’s house to call 911, according to Bowdoin Fire Chief Tom Garrepy. It appears the fire was caused by an electrical malfunction and Garrepy said the state fire marshal’s office was notified. The house did sustain water and fire damage he said.
