Brunswick – Robert (Bob) C. Davis, age 77 of Harpswell, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Mid Coast Hospital.
Bob was born in Meriden, CT on April 25, 1941, the son of Robert C. and Dorothy (McGar) Davis, He attended American International College in Springfield on a basketball scholarship earning a BS in Business Administration then continued his education earning his Master’s Degree in Finance.
He is a Certified Public Accountant, with many years of experience working as an interim Chief Financial Officer for a diverse group of companies including financial and bio tech firms and banks.
Bob was a true community servant giving his time, talent and treasures to many organizations. He held board positions with The United Way of Mid Coast Maine, Bath Area Family YMCA, People Plus, Mid Coast-Parkview Health, SAD 75, Rotary Club of Topsham holding leadership roles for all of these throughout the years as well as numerous committees with those organizations. He received many awards and enjoyed fundraising for the community.
He loved gardening, antiquing with his wife, he was an avid Cleveland sports fan, loved sharing stories about his daughters, son in laws and grandchildren. His role models include Abraham Lincoln and Winston Churchill.

He is survived by his wife, Carol (Moseley) Davis of Harpswell; three daughters, Bonnie Mellos (Alex) of Grosse Pointe, MI, Beth Gage (Seth) of Huntington, VT, and Barbara Davis of Westport, CT.; six grandchildren, Alexis and Anna Mellos, Madeline and Sadie Gage, Emma and Sam Vannart; his former wife, Rebecca Davis Wdowiak of Pinehurst, NC; his brother-in-law, William Bryan of Clayton, NC; his sister-in-law, Hilda Davis of Marshallburg, NC; and his dachshund “Buddy” Kineo.
Visiting hours will be held from 1 to 3pm and 5 to 7pm Friday, November 16, at the Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick. A funeral service will be held at 3pm Saturday, November 17 at First Parish Church 9 Cleaveland St, Brunswick ME with a reception following the service at the Landing Y, 24 Venture Ave., Brunswick. Gifts in Bob’s memory may be made to the Robert C Davis Endowment Fund to support early childhood and youth development at the Bath Area YMCA.
