PITTSTON — George M. Shaw, 77, of Pittston, went home to be with the Lord while on an annual family fishing trip in Northern Maine on Friday, September 7th, 2018. He was born on April 16th, 1941, the son of the late Glen P. Shaw and Shirbie Markey Kinney.

George graduated from Morse High School in Bath, Maine, in 1959. He married his high school sweetheart, Ida Fortini Shaw, on July 4th, 1959. He was employed at General Dynamics, Electric Boat in Groton, CT. for 37 years before returning to Maine. He was a Past Master of Coastal Lodge #57 AF&AM; a member of Valley of Norwich A.A.S.R. 32?; Past Patron of Radiant Chapter #11 OES, and Marion Chapter #63 OES. He was also a member of the Groton Sportsmen’s Club, the Electric Boat Management Club, and the Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine.

He was predeceased by Brother-In-Law, Keith Davis.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Debbie Evans (Greg) of Ledyard, CT; Lynda Jean (Bob) of Oakdale, CT; and Susan Terranova (David) of Ashaway, RI; Grandchildren Kimberly Collins (Adam); Brandon Jean and Silvana Terranova; great-grandson, Logan Collins; Sisters Gloria Luettich (Richard); and Jackie May (Jim); Brother Alban Pelletier (Donna); and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 15th, from 1-4 PM at Maple Hill Farm Inn, 11 Inn Road, Hallowell, Maine.

Arrangements are in the care of Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner.
