SANFORD — Ralph Francis Fortier, “Porky” 83, of Sanford died Monday, June 18, 2018 at the Newton Center.
He was born Sept. 20, 1934 in Biddeford a son of Armand and Yvonne (Lacroix) Fortier and was educated in Biddeford and Old Orchard Beach schools.
Francis served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1957. He then worked for Colt Manufacturing in Connecticut for several years. Returning to Maine he was employed with the Town of Old Orchard Beach.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Andrew and John Paul Fortier and by four sisters: Priscilla McSweeney, Reinette Fregeau, Rachel Marcoux and Margaret Cote.
Surviving are a brother, Charles E. Fortier of Biddeford, a sister, Gertrude Simoneau of Arundel, and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visiting hours. Burial service and military honors will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26 in Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery, 83 Stanley Road, Springvale, ME 04083.
