BRUNSWICK
A fire that broke out in a Brunswick mobile home on Friday heavily damaged the residence and claimed the life of a pet.
The fire was reported at 26 Madeline Drive at 2:15 p.m. and drew firefighters from five towns.
Brunswick Fire Chief Ken Brillant said the fire was extinguished quickly, but the home sustained serious heat and smoke damage.
Homeowner Dan London lives there alone with his pets, according to the fire chief, and was gone when the fire began. A dog died in the blaze, and firefighters were unable to locate a cat.
The home was insured.
Brillant said the fire was accidental, cause by an electrical appliance that was plugged in inside the home.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
