BRUNSWICK — Chris Bubbico, general manager of The Brunswick Hotel & Tavern, is delighted to welcome Christian Bassett as executive chef for The Brunswick Hotel & Tavern.

With a passion for superior food quality and a commitment to creating exquisite guest experiences, Bassett is excited to introduce regional, modern American cuisine to the tavern’s menu and bring fresh, new flavors to Brunswick.

“I’m thrilled to be leading the team at The Brunswick Hotel & Tavern and to introduce fusion techniques and full ‘from scratch’ philosophy to the menu,” said Bassett.

After attending Southern Maine Community College Culinary Arts, Bassett perfected his style during stints as executive chef for restaurants including Rustler’s Steakhouse in Windham, Bon Appetit at St Joseph’s College, and most recently at Timber Steakhouse & Rotisserie in Portland.

A favorite at Maine Restaurant Week, he was crowned Spirit Quest winner in 2017 and runner-up in 2018 and 2016. Bassett is Servsafe certified and is a frequent guest on local television shows including “207” and “Morning Menu.”

An advocate for giving back to the community, Bassett has volunteered his time by performing guest chef stints at the Ronald McDonald House and Cooking Matters.
