Southern Maine Community College is offering nearly 250 courses and workshops over the summer months for people working toward a degree, seeking to expand their professional skills or beginning new careers.
Open registration for credit courses began on March 19, with classes offered at SMCC’s South Portland Campus, Midcoast Campus in Brunswick and online. The summer term runs from May 29 through Aug. 17.
People who want to take credit summer classes and aren’t seeking to earn a degree from SMCC don’t need to apply. For more information about classes and how to register, visit Summer at SMCC webpage. In-state tuition for most classes is less than $300.

President message
“Summer is a great time to take a class that can be applied toward a degree at SMCC or transferred to another college or university,” said SMCC President Ron Cantor. “It’s also a good time to look into other offerings to enhance your professional skills or explore your creative talents.”
Southern Maine Community College is Maine’s largest and oldest community college. Founded in 1946, SMCC has among the lowest tuition and fees in New England and offers more than 40 degree programs.
