BOWDOINHAM
Maine State Police say they have charged a teenage boy with murdering a Bowdoinham woman.
Beulah “Marie” Sylvester, 55, was found seriously injured and unresponsive by Sagadahoc County deputies at her 946 Post Road home on Monday morning.
She died Monday night at Maine Medical Center in Portland. An autopsy by the Medical Examiner’s Office began Tuesday.
The suspect, who lives in Bowdoinham, was charged Wednesday afternoon as he was being released from Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick, where he had been admitted on Monday, according to Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland.
The teen has been taken to the Long Creek Center in South Portland. He will make his first court appearance Friday in West Bath court.
His name is not being released at this time because he is a juvenile, but it will be made public in conjunction with the court appearance, according to McCausland.
The cause of Sylvester’s death is not being released at this time, but the death is now classified as a homicide, McCausland said.
