STANDISH — Saint Joseph’s College shot 51.9- percent from beyond the arc and set a program record for 3-pointers made in an 80-63 victory over Husson University at the Harold Alfond Center recently.
Junior guard Hannah Marks netted a career-high 30 points off a 7-of-10 3-point shooting performance, and the Monks registered a game-changing 26-7 run in the second half to hold off the Eagles, who scored the game’s final 18 points during the closing five minutes of play.
Junior guard Julia Champagne of Brunswick tallied 10 points, five rebounds and three assists in the win.
With the victory, Saint Joseph’s improved to 40-32 in the history of the series with Husson University and avenged a 77-50 loss at the hands of the Eagles last winter.
Saint Joseph’s travels to Lewiston tonight to face Bates College in a 6p.m. contest.
