FREEPORT — The Freeport High School jayvee girls basketball team picked up win and a loss in recent action.
Against Gray-New Gloucester, the Falcons fell, 37-36. Down by 27 points at halftime, Freeport rallied to make it a game. The Falcons opened the third quarter on a flurry, outscoring the Patriots 23-2 behind Rachel Walls’ game-high 15-point performance.
Walls led the way in the rebounding category and picked off a number of steals in the third quarter to rally her teammates.
Hannah Spaulding and Hannah Groves (both with 6 points a piece) played well for Freeport. Gray-New Gloucester was led by Samantha Fortin with 12 points.
On Saturday, Freeport rolled to a 35-17 win over rival Yarmouth.
Abby Brier and Chloe Barber had solid performances in the win.
