VOLUNTEERS filled the cafe at the People Plus Center this week stuffing, addressing and sealing more than 1,000 envelopes for the People Plus annual fundraising appeal. With a goal of $50,000, funds from the appeal are a significant part of the annual budget for the People Plus Center that supports an engaged, healthy and independent life for older adults. These volunteers are part of the nearly 200 others who support more than 50 health, wellness, technology, education, creative, social and outreach programs each month at the center on Union Street. The volunteer pool provides thousands of support hours a year. Visit peopleplusmaine.org for more information.
