TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat Middle School “B” field hockey team had a 1-1-1 stretch recently.
Piper Cohen made several solid saves as the Eagles played Oxford Hills to a scoreless tie. Tara Crossman, Maggie Whalen and Danika Siatras were solid.
Mt. Ararat rolled to a 4-0 win over Auburn. Lydia Monks gave the Eagles a 1-0 halftime lead off a passing play from Emelia Linkel and Lily Stewart. In the second frame, Grace Kelleher scored twice unassisted. The midfield play of Anna Bernier, Paige Swanson and Libby Anderson led the way.
The Eagles fell to rival Brunswick in a close 1-0 contest. Standing out for Mt. Ararat were Nadia Rosenberg, Eliva Beattie and Cohen in goal, while Mallory Stuart, Grace Phillips and Anderson played well in the midfield. Matana Slocum was solid up front.
