
American roots music duo Martin Grosswendt and Susanne Salem- Schatz will perform a concert at the Phippsburg Congregational Church on Oct. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
Called “one of America’s great natural musical resources” by Robert Resnik of Vermont Public Radio, Grosswendt has shared the stage with legendary performers including Jesse Winchester, Dave Van Ronk, Tom Rush, Sonny Terry and Brownie Magee, Sam and Dave, Taj Mahal and others. Salem-Schatz is a veteran of the Boston roots music scene, and the two have played and sang together for three years in Honky Tonk Masquerade, a honky tonk/western swing band, before striking out as an acoustic duo two years ago. Their first CD together, “Old Songs, New Hats,” was released in 2015.
The Phippsburg Congregational Church is located at 10 Church Lane in Phippsburg. Admission at the door is $15; students $8; $12 advance tickets are available for purchase at Brown- PaperTickets.com.
