Graze in Peace Farm Animal Rescue and Learning Center will hold an Oktoberfest Celebration fundraiser from 3–7 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Graze in Peace farm in Durham. Live music for the event will be provided by Pejepscot Station, and a vegan buffet-style dinner will be served featuring brats, hot dogs, German salads and sides, cider, beer and wine. Homemade pretzels and baked goods will also be for sale.
The event will also include farm tours, family games and a silent auction.
Proceeds from the event will be used to care for and feed the rescued animals who are lifelong residents at the farm. Funds will also be used to jumpstart the “care farm” program at Graze where vulnerable people in the local community, including disabled and at-risk youth and adults, will have access to a community center for therapeutic and educational activities, as well as fully accessible raised garden beds and a nature trail where visitors can observe the animal residents in their natural setting.
