AUBURN — The Brunswick Junior High seventh and eighth-grade boys soccer teams split on a recent trip to Auburn.
The eighth-grade game finished in a 2-2 tie. Auburn led throughout the game, but Tommy Labbe tied the game late following a Gus Silverman goal that put the Huskies on the board.
Cal Wilby and Ollie Bateman played well on defense, and Albie Putnam and Matty Duhaine had a solid game on offense for the Huskies. Sebbie Sanderson just missed the go-ahead goal late in the contest.
The seventh-grade team fared better, defeating the home team, 6-2. Robert Johnson led the scoring with a pair of goals, while Jackson Fredericks, Liam Driscoll, A.J. Wolverton and Brady LaForge all chipped in with a goal each.
Strong field play by Max Hamilton, Chris Kousky and Will Dolley helped keep the Huskies undefeated.
Brunswick travels to Tripp Middle School in Turner today.
