BATH
Studio Theatre of Bath will be holding auditions for a staged reading of Tennessee Williams’ one-act play “Suddenly Last Summer” on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Patten Free Library in Bath.
Casting is for five women ages of 25-65 and two men ages 18-35. The rehearsal period will be brief, with three to four rehearsals — Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. — and one performance Nov. 18.
“Suddenly Last Summer” explores how far a mother will go to preserve her son’s reputation. According to The New York Times, “it represents Mr. Williams at the peak of his talent … his most devastating statement about corruption in the world … a triumphant piece of dramatic literature.”
Actors should come prepared with a 1-2 minute monologue and be ready to do cold readings from the script. For more information, email studiotheatrebath@gmail.com.
