JENNIFER CARTMELL of Brunswick and Hugo Davies of Los Angeles recently came in first place in the consolation round of the Horne International Tennis Tournament. The annual mixed doubles blind draw tournament took place in the Boothbay Harbor region on Squirrel Island. Cartmell and Davies were knocked into the consolation round by a partnership that went on to win the tournament’s first place trophies. Players competing in this annual tournament are from across the U.S., and this year included individuals from England, Brazil and Columbia. Cartmell is a regular 4.0 USTA player from Maine Pines Racquet and Fitness in Brunswick.
