Leclerc began his credit union service as a volunteer in 1988 serving on the credit committee. He was elected in 1993 to the board of directors, has served as secretary, vice chairman and was elected to serve as chairman in March 2013. As chairman, Leclerc serves as a liaison between the board and management, and presides at all meetings of the board.
Roger Sirois, president and CEO of Atlantic Federal Credit Union, said, “Dave Leclerc has been an amazing asset to this organization for almost 30 years. We have some terrific employees who have been with us for 30 years, but to have a volunteer demonstrate such commitment is remarkable. He believes in the credit union principles and in the Atlantic mission to improve our members’ financial quality of life. Atlantic is a financial cooperative owned and operated by its members and Dave is the voice of the members.”

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
