
Four Bath YMCA gymnastics team athletes recently took first place in the 2017 YMCA Gymnastics Northeast Regional Championships May 11-12.
This included teams from all of the New England states and parts of New York.
Regional bar champion for Level 3, age 10 was Bath gymnast Kyra Fortier with a score of 9.25.
In the Excel Silver Division, age 12, Arianna Baker was the Regional champion on both bars and floor. Her scores of 9.325 and 9.05 were outstanding, taking the top spot.
Veteran gymnast Audrey Crews competed in the Excel Gold Division, age 13, earning Regional champion on the vault with her score of 9.25.
Regional vault champion in the Excel Silver Division, age 11, was Bath gymnast Caroline Thelen. Her 9.4 score was impressive to watch.
Competition has ended for the season for the team, but they still have a Gala performance on June 23 at 7 p. m. It is free admission, but donations are always appreciated.
The drawing for an American Girl Doll will also take place that night. Tickets are $5. The team will also be offering a $20, Balmy Days cruise in Boothbay Harbor, with 100- percent of the proceeds going to the team.
All tickets are available through a YMCA gymnast.
