WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Seniors Allison Hill of Brunswick and Sadie James both recorded third-place finishes to lead the Bates College women’s track and field team to 15th place out of 40 teams Saturday at the all-divisions Open New Englands.
Hill placed third overall in the 100-meter hurdles with a finals time of 14.11 seconds, the second-fastest race of her career and the fastest she has run with a tailwind under 2.0-meters per second.
Hill also led off Bates’ sixth-place 4×400 relay team, which finished in 3:54.49. Hill was followed by first-year Paige Rabb, sophomore Ayden Eickhoff and senior Claire Markonic.
Bates will compete Thursday at the MIT Final Qualifying Meet, the last meet before NCAA Division III Championships, taking place May 25-27 in Geneva, Ohio.
