BATH — The Bath Middle School softball team improved to 3-2 with an 11-10 win over Auburn recently.
The Destroyers were led by Julia Goddard (double, two singles, two RBIs and three runs) and Abby Carpenter (double, single, two RBIs, two runs) 1-double, 1- single, 2 RBI’s and 2 runs). Brook Kulis and Catelyn Bradford contributed a single and two runs each.
Camdyn Johnson pitched through four hitless innings, striking out eight and walking nine. Kulis closed out the game after the fifth inning, striking out one and walking six. Carpenter threw out three runners on the bases from behind the plate. Strong defensive plays for the Destroyers came from Goddard, Carpenter, Giorgia Fisher, Xantha Rutledge and Katelyn Anderson.
Auburn pitchers struck out nine and walked 11.
The Destroyers look to improve their record against Mt. Ararat at home on Thursday.
