He was the husband of the late Joanna (Shannon) Pettis, father of Donald Pettis Jr., Ronald Pettis and his wife Maria and Debra Tangney and her husband Terry all of Millis. He was the brother of Dorothy Sosmowski of Florida and the late Robert Pettis and Geranlyn Boone. He is also survived by grandchildren Andrea, Ronnie, Ryne, Bailey, Brian and Cole.
Don spent his free time at his vacation home in Limerick Maine, where he developed many close friends.
A Funeral Mass will be Friday, May 5 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 111 Exchange St. in Millis, Massachusetts. Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Roberts Mitchell Funeral Home, 90 Curve St, Millis.
