WALDOBORO
The Morse High School baseball team opened its Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference slate with a 5-1 victory over Medomak Valley on Tuesday.
Tucker Banger was 3-for-4 with a double, RBI, two stolen bases and a run scored in the win, while Jackson Walker drove in a pair of runs and Parker Onorato scored twice and swiped two bases.
Tait Nygaard earned the mound win with two scoreless innings, with three strikeouts and no hits allowed.
Banger singled and scored on a single by Taylor Shaw in the opening frame for a 1- 0 Shipbuilders lead. Banger doubled in a run in the third, and Morse (1-0) put the game away with three runs in the fifth, with two-out hits coming from Walker and Austin Magliozzi.
The Shipbuilders host Belfast on Friday at 4 p.m.

Hunter Lohr tossed a five-hit complete game as the host Eagles won for a second straight day in KVAC play in Topsham.
Lohr struck out seven and walked two while throwing just 81 pitches in the win.
At the plate, Lohr, Nick Merrill and Sam Alexander had two hits each.
Three pitchers threw for Cony, combining to allow 10 hits, with two strikeouts and seven walks.
Mt. Ararat is 2-1 and slated to visit Lewiston today at 4 p.m.
Softball
LISBON — Lisbon answered a four-run rally by Winthrop with one of its own for a walk-off, 10-8 Mountain Valley Conference win on Monday.
In a back-and-forth contest, Lisbon (1-0) trailed 3-0 in the fourth before a four-run rally gave the Greyhounds a short lived
4-3 lead. Winthrop tied it in the fifth, but Lisbon scored two more runs to carry a 6-4 lead to the seventh.
Back came the Ramblers, who scored four runs for an 8- 6 advantage.
Lisbon struck right back with four in the home half of the frame.
Mallory Fairbanks and Jasmin Le led the ’Hounds with three hits each, with Giana Russo and Ali Sult adding two hits apiece. Russo (four RBIs), Le and Sult drove in all 10 runs for Lisbon, which hosts Dirigo on Thursday at 4 p.m.
Kara Perkins and Maddie Hajuk had two hits each for Winthrop (0-1).
On the mound, Alyssa Hall allowed nine hits, struck out three and walked four for Lisbon. Winthrop’s Laura Audet punched out five Greyhounds, while Lisbon pounded out 14 hits.

The host Panthers scored six runs in the third inning to erase a 5-2 deficit en route to a KVAC win over the Shipbuilders (0-1) at Waldoboro.
Gabby DePatsy struck out 11 in the win, while Dory Kulis took the loss for Morse on 12 hits. She struck out six and walked one.
Sadie Cohen cracked a home run and singled twice for Medomak Valley (3-0), while Addie Jameson doubled twice. Lydia Simmons chipped in a double and a single, with Hallie Kunesh adding a pair of singles.
Micilah Albertson tripled and singled, Paige Faulkingham doubled and singled, Marissa Parks drove in four runs on a pair of singles and Hope Faulkingham launched a three-run home run for Morse. Sierra Wallace and Mikayla Rose also singled.
The Shipbuilders are slated to host Belfast on Friday at 4 p.m.

Jess Pratt and Madi Simard combined for seven hits and 11 RBIs and the visiting Knights came away with a Western Maine Conference win over the Falcons (0-1) on Monday.
In Freeport’s first game of the season, Poland (3-0) jumped out early, scoring three runs in the first, five in the second and seven more in the third.
Pratt doubled and drove in five runs, while Simard was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and six RBIs. Allison Kelly and Sarah Walton chipped in two hits apiece.
Tori Tibbetts pitched for Poland, allowing six hits with three strikeouts and a walk.
Abby Brier had three hits for Freeport, including a double, scored two runs and drove in a run. Abbey Koenig and Alexa Koenig both had a hit.
Freeport is slated to host Sacopee Valley today at 4 p.m.
Girls lacrosse
FREEPORT — Ya Stockford scored five goals and Isabelle Canning dished out seven assists as Waynflete captured an 11-7 WMC win over Freeport.
The Falcons fell to 0- 2 and visit Morse on Saturday at 11 a.m. The Flyers improved to 2-0.
Waynflete claimed a 6-3 halftime lead.
Taylor Rinaldi rallied Freeport in the second half, scoring all three of her goals. Chloe Davidson added two goals and an assist, with Margaret Perrotta and Regan Lynch chipping in a goal each.
In net, emergency fill-in Paige Rinaldi had six saves for the Falcons.
