Recognizing His Voice
Mary goes to the tomb looking for Jesus, but Jesus finds her instead. When he addresses her as “woman” she does not recognize him, but only when he calls her by name, “Mary”. He cautions her not to hold onto him. She must now learn to relate to him through the Spirit. Joyful as the reunion is, things will never be the same again. And he tells her to go and tell the others that he has risen. Jesus calls us into relationship with him, and this is where it all begins, with his choosing, with his love, his blessing, his forgiveness. And once we respond to his call nothing is ever the same again. Jesus speaks to us through every person we meet, whether it be the gardener, our neighbor, those who are sick or in need, the homeless. We are his and he calls us by name. God, help us to recognize his voice when he speaks to us.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
