BATH — On Saturday, April 29, Patten Free Library will host a day of tabletop gaming in the second floor Community Room. The event is free and open to all. No prior experience with board games is necessary, although most games are best for ages eight and up.

“The 1990s saw a resurgence of interest in board games,” said Dean Emmerson, the event organizer. “Games like Settlers of Catan, which first came out in 1996, have helped spawn a huge industry and following. This day is for people and families who love to engage around board games involving strategy, a love or history or geography, fantasy worlds, and more.”

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be at least five tables of organized play, with scheduled games overseen by volunteers.

The full schedule and game descriptions can be found on the Facebook event page, “Patten Free Tabletop Game Day” (http://facebook.com/PattenFreeGaming). Participants may walk in on the day of the event, or register on-line in advance for the games they know they want to play. The registration form can be found at http://goo.gl/BkaKfE.

Participants may also bring their own games to play, or browse a game library that will be on display. There are also a few slots left for scheduled games for those who would like to volunteer for organized play.

For more information on how to offer a game at a scheduled time, please contact Dean Emmerson at deanemmerson11@gmail.com.
