HALLOWELL
The Harlow Gallery is set to present Young at Art, the 14th annual exhibition of children’s artwork, on view March 18 to April 8 with a public reception this Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. During this exhibition, students from kindergarten through 8th grade will have their work on display in the professional setting of the Harlow Gallery, 160 Water St. in Hallowell.
Each year the Harlow Gallery invites art teachers from elementary and middle schools from throughout the greater Augusta area to select their best student art to showcase in this community celebration of art students and of the importance of arts in education. This year marks the first year that the gallery is integrating homeschool student artwork in the Young at Art exhibit.
Due to the high volume of visitors for the opening reception for Young at Art, the Harlow Gallery asks that participating artists and their families attend according to the following schedule. Families with more than one artist participating can choose to attend whichever time works best for them. Visitors not affiliated with a participating artist are welcome anytime between 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.:
11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grade
12:30-2 p.m.: 3rd, 4th & 5th grade
