
Bonny Eagle High School’s girls cross-country team and boys football team along with school officials are honored by legislators in Augusta for the teams’ state titles in November.
Bonny Eagle teams recognized with Legislative sentiments
Bonny Eagle High School girls cross-country and boys football teams traveled to Augusta Feb.14 for recognition of their Class A state championships in November.
During their visit, the teams joined Gov. Paul LePage for breakfast in the Blaine House before being honored before both the Senate and House bodies during session.
The Bonny Eagle girls cross-country team was recognized for their second straight Class A championship and the Bonny Eagle football team for their Class A state football championship.
“The girls cross country team has participated in the Class A championship match four out of the past five years, and this is the football team’s sixth title under Coach Kevin Cooper over the last 13 years,” Sen. Amy Volk said in a release from the Senate Republican Office.
