The Topsham Parks and Recreation Department has multiple sports programs kicking off this spring. Here’s a look:

Tee Ball — Opening April 29 for Topsham residents ages 5-6 as of April 30, 2017. There will be one practice a week with games on Saturday mornings. Deadline to register is March 30. Cost to register is $40.

Youth Baseball — For Topsham residents ages 7-8 as of April 30, 2017. Also known as the “Coach-Pitch” division. All other information is the same as Tee Ball.

Cal Ripken — Minors for ages 9-10. Majors for ages 11 and 12. Topsham residents only. Opening day is tentatively scheduled for April 29. There will be one practice and two games a week (some games may be played outside of SAD75). Deadline to register is March 23. Cost to register is $50.

Youth Softball — Rookies ages 7-8, minors ages 9- 10, and majors ages 11 and 12. Topsham residents only. There will be one practice and two games a week (some games may be played outside of SAD75). Deadline to register is March 23. Cost to register is $45 for rookies and $50 for minors and majors.

Eagles Lacrosse (5th and 6th) — Boys and girls in fifth and sixth-grade who live within SAD75. There will be two practices a week starting in mid-April with games on weekends in the greater Midcoast area until mid-June. Girls play 7-on-7 (limit 15 to a team), boys play 10-on-10 (limit 20 to a team). Cost to register is $100. This is in addition to the cost of individual equipment that each player must have. Register early to get your spot!

Eagles Lacrosse ( 7th and 8th) — Boys and girls in seventh- and eighth-grade who live within SAD-75. This division plays through Mt. Ararat Middle School. There will be one boys team and one girls team. Cost to register is $80. Families with two or more players may register at $50 per player. Sign up through the Recreation Department by April 6.

Baseball Scheduler/ Umpire — The Recreation Department is looking for an individual to schedule umpires for Cal Ripken baseball games. This individual must also have the skill and ability to step in and umpire the games if the need arises. Call the department for details.
