BRUNSWICK
Maine State Music Theatre will present “Magic Time: A Program of Story and Song” — combining fairytale literature with musical adaptations — on Friday, Feb. 24 at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Morrell Reading Room at Curtis Memorial Library in Brunswick.
The free hour-long children’s programs will feature readings from the original books and live performances, video and audio from MSMT’s 2017 Theatre for Young Audiences shows, “Sleeping Beauty” and “Alice and Wonderland.” Curt Dale Clark, MSMT’s artistic director, and local actress and educator Kristen Thomas will perform with Marcia Gallagher on keyboards and with Youth Services Librarian Pam Jenkins and Broadway World’s Carla Maria Verdino-Süllwold serving as narrators.
The programs are designed to be interactive, with children having the opportunity to meet the artists involved and ask questions. Prior to and during the performances, Curtis Memorial Library will make available story and media materials for youngsters to use.
Both programs are free to the public and are supported by the Maine Humanities Council.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
