Using our Talents
God gives each of us unique gifts and abilities which serve to make us who we are. We are the stewards or managers of these gifts and God expects us to use them for the benefit of each other, and to build up his kingdom here on earth. We are all part of the body of Christ, and we were created to serve God and all humankind. This is a good time of year to take stock. What is it that we do especially well? What is it that brings out the best in us? Is it mentoring, strategic thinking, good listening, cooking, teaching, writing, organizing, or working with people? The list could go on and on. There are no insignificant ministries in the church of God. Some are visible, some behind the scenes, but all are valuable, and small, hidden ministries often make the biggest difference. If we use our talents wisely, God will give us more. If we use our influence wisely, God will increase or influence. So whatever God is calling each of us to do, let us do it with boldness, determination, and loving hearts. If we can do this, God will bless our faithfulness.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
